At TripAdvisor, we’re proud of the people behind the brand. And today, we’re very pleased to announce our new chief marketing officer, Barbara Messing. Barbara will lead the global marketing efforts here at TripAdvisor, as we continue to expand our global footprint as the world’s largest travel site. Barbara is sure to be busy as she leads all of our brand’s consumer marketing activities, including brand development and experience, customer relationship marketing, public relations, search engine marketing, traffic acquisition, and mobile partnerships.
A veteran of the travel industry, Barbara spent nine years at Hotwire (also part of the Expedia, Inc. family) before joining the TripAdvisor team, where she served in a number of leadership roles, most recently as vice president and general manager of Travel Ticker. Before joining Hotwire in 2002, Barbara was a product director at Keen.com and a segment producer at The Travel Channel. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Stanford University.
