TripIndex Reveals Popular World Cities Where Travelers’ Dollars Go the Distance

Interested in heading on a trip where you’ll get the biggest bang for your buck? Look no further than TripAdvisor’s inaugural TripIndex – a cost comparison of 50 key tourist cities from around the world and 15 hotspots in the U.S., all tracked against the U.S. dollar. The lists, which can be found below, are based on the combined cost of one night’s stay in a four-star hotel, a core food item (a pizza), an alcoholic drink and a taxi journey in each destination.

What are the least and most expensive destinations for U.S. travelers? TripIndex found:

-Las Vegas is the least expensive city in the U.S. for domestic travelers, with a total TripIndex cost of $164.

-Beating 49 rival cities, Bangkok is the best-value global city for U.S. travelers, with its total TripIndex tally of $112.

-New York City is the most expensive domestic destination for U.S. travelers, with a total TripIndex cost of $367.

-Paris’ TripIndex pricetag of $429 makes it the costliest city in the world for Americans.

Take a look at the lists below and let us know in the comments section where you’d most like to head next!

Where did you take your drink in Paris?? Come on, 35$. Haha. People doesn’t have to go to “Fouquet’s” to have a drink.
