TripAdvisor Reviews and Opinions Hit the Road with TomTom

Heading out on a road trip, a weekend drive to discover a new destination or just wondering where to grab some grub while driving home after a busy day at work? Then you’ll want to read on! Today, we’re excited to announce a new TripAdvisor offering – the addition of TripAdvisor reviews and opinions to the new TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M navigation device. The new connected TomTom device will be available this October, and will combine the most comprehensive road and traffic information with the insights of a custom TripAdvisor app and other travel-specific apps.

It’s the first time we’re bringing TripAdvisor content to a navigation device, which we think is pretty cool. Plus, not only will travelers have access to hundreds of thousands of TripAdvisor reviews and opinions on hotels, restaurants and attractions, but they’ll also be able to call for reservations through compatible Bluetooth® connected devices.

Wondering how travelers use their navigation devices while searching for places to eat and stay while on the road? A recent survey conducted by TomTom took a peek at how the majority of users most commonly search restaurants, lodging facilities and things to do on their navigation devices*. Results included that users at least sometimes search for restaurants 78% of the time, lodging facilities 71% of the time and leisure facilities (like amusement parks and zoos) 62% of the time.

We’re looking forward to enhancing these searches with trusted opinions from TripAdvisor travelers, so keep an eye out for the device in stores near you. We can’t wait to hit the road with you!
